Cookingdom Level 56: Pelmeni
Video Guide & Text Walkthrough
Walkthrough Guide
Step 1: Make the Dough
- Pour the flour from the purple bowl into the large central mixing bowl.
- Add water, oil, salt, and crack in three eggs.
- Use the whisk to stir counterclockwise until it becomes dough.
- Transfer the dough to the cutting board, knead it by swiping up and down with your finger.
- Once ready, move the dough to the patterned bowl on the right side.
Step 2: Make the Meat Filling
- Slice the pork belly on the cutting board and grind it in the meat grinder.
- Peel the onion’s red skin by swiping down, chop it finely and place into the blue bowl below.
- Smash the garlic with the knife, peel it, crush it into minced garlic and add it to the blue bowl too.
- Chop the scallions, discard the root ends into the trash, and set the chopped scallions aside.
- Add the minced pork to the blue bowl, sprinkle with black pepper and salt.
- Pour in a little water and stir clockwise until it becomes a thick meat filling paste.
Step 3: Make the Pelmeni
- Place the dough on the board and dust with flour from the small bowl on the left.
- Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough, first vertically, then horizontally, until it’s thin.
- Use the mold to press out 11 pelmeni wrappers — 4 on the top row, 3 in the middle, and 4 at the bottom.
- Drag meat filling from the bowl onto each wrapper, one by one.
- Tap on each dough wrapper to fold and seal the meat inside — repeat for all 11 pelmeni.
Step 4: Boil the Pelmeni
- Fill a soup pot with water at the sink and place it on the stove. Turn on the heat.
- When water boils, add the pelmeni into the pot.
- Sprinkle salt and black pepper into the water.
- Once cooked, scoop the pelmeni out with a strainer and place them into a bowl.
- Add a spoon of mayonnaise and sprinkle chopped scallions on top.
- A friendly bear arrives, offering you a drink — feed him one pelmeni with a fork as a thank you.
